International Women's Day
We at Intamarque asked our team some questions about what international Women's Day means to them.
Emma Chang - Buying Manager
How important is it for women to lift each other up and what does that mean to you?
It is crucial for all women to support each other and give each other the courage and strength to grow and develop themselves both personally and in their careers. I wouldn’t be in the position I am in today without the support of my network of strong independent successful women giving me the confidence and courage to take a risk and move to a new company and city.
What is your important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
Put yourself out there through utilising your current network and networking opportunities on linkedIn to gain experience and advice. Its never too late to change or start a new career, and with hard work you will get to where you want to be.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Embrace Equity” what does this mean to you?
All businesses should follow this theme all year around not just on International women’s day, colleagues should be rewarded and hired on merit, determination, experience, and work ethic not because of their gender, ethnicity or age.
Jake Patterson - E-Commerce Assistant
What position do you hold at Intamarque and can you tell us a bit about you?
Hi, I’m Jake, an E-Commerce Assistant at Intamarque.
What is your proudest achievement whilst working at Intamarque?
Remembering people's names (I have only been here a week).
Can you share a Women’s empowerment moment that inspired you?
When the England Women's team won the UEFA European Women’s Championship. The group's unity to inspire future generations to play sports and believe in their dreams, not just to win.
Which Woman inspires you the most?
Jessica, my sister, who has the ability to light up a room. I also admire my sister's drive, not only in her career but in life too. I am lucky enough to call her my sister and have her to go to for anything I need advice on.
What does international women’s day mean to you?
A reminder to continue appreciating and celebrating the amazing female friends and family I have in my life.
What would your advice be for women starting out in Ecommerce ?
I'd advise listening to podcasts and following people in your field on LinkedIn. Some amazing women have motivated and aided me in my profession and I'm sure they'll do the same for you!

- Rachel Miller (Because Of Marketing Founder) Gives you information on the latest marketing and advertising campaigns. Side note screenshot and save your favourites for future inspiration.
- Sophie Miller (Pretty Little Marketer) Provides you with news, insights and tricks around social media marketing.
What is your important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
Everyone experiences difficult days or times when they make mistakes. So, close your eyes, reflect on your first ever day for a minute, and then assess how much you've grown and learned.

Sarah Harris - Creative Graphic Designer
What position do you hold at Intamarque and can you tell us a bit about you?
Hi I’m Sarah, The Creative Graphic Designer at Intamarque.
What is your proudest achievement whilst working at Intamarque?
Working at Intamarque has taught me to step out of my comfort zone and get involved with areas of the business in which I thought I wouldn’t have a say on.
Which Woman inspire you the most?
My Sister and Mum are the ones who inspire me the most. They are the two women who I go for advice everyday.
What does international women’s day mean to you?
To me its multiple things, It’s the value, equality, collaboration, appreciation and respect towards all women.
What would your advice be for women starting out in (your Job title) ?
I’d advise to look at other inspirational women within your job field or similar. I follow a lot of young aspiring women who run their own businesses, which helps give me the confidence to grow myself and my own business.
